can anyone help me with my console it turns on by itself after the console is off?

There could be several reasons why your Xbox One is turning on by itself. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check the power settings: Make sure the power settings on your Xbox One are set to "Energy-saving mode" instead of "Instant-on." The instant-on mode can sometimes cause the console to turn on by itself.

2. Check the controller: Your controller may be turning on the Xbox One by itself. Try removing the batteries from the controller and see if the console still turns on by itself. If it doesn't, then the controller may be the issue.

3. Check the power cord: Make sure that the power cord is properly connected to the console and the wall outlet. If the cord is loose, the console may turn on by itself.

4. Try a different power outlet: The issue could be with the power outlet that the Xbox One is connected to. Try connecting the console to a different outlet and see if the problem persists.

Try a different wall outlet (also, be sure you're not plugged in through a surge protector!), to see if that resolves the issue.

EDIT: Is it a slim?, if so have you tried cleaning the power (on/off) button with a soft cloth?. And when it turns on/off what colour is the light on the adapter?.

Can you unplug the console for five or ten minutes and then try again?

this to reset your console to factory defaults.

not sure..but i am having the same problem.

One thing i noticed is that the console doesn't make a loud run up noise like it did when I first got last June..the fan does turn but it's very weak..maybe the fan is defect. I finally decided to send it in for repair..since it turning off and on in the
middle (bout 15 minutes into the game)of a game..sick and frak'n tired of it.

Hi there. Have you tried clearing the update cache? If not try that and then unplug the console for at least 24 hours from the mains socket.
