Can an adapter and headset make a usb mic work?

That's actually a good question.

Now, you can totally give that a shot, however because Xbox does not officially support USB headsets, there's no guarantee that it will work. If it doesn't, it's either that 100% it's not compatible with the console, or there might be some other configuration
steps you may need to consult the developer of that headset for.

I'm am not 100% sure, as I can not test this myself, but if you do have an adapter you can use to test this, give it a shot, and see if it works.

I'm assuming the adapter you are referring to is a USB to 3.5mm adapter.

Okay so here's a couple of things you can try with the headset itself:

Set everything back to default first, do this by:

(assuming you're using the adapter for the mic):

1. press the mute button for the mic on the adapter
2. orange light comes on; if not then take out mic/USB cable, adapter, and then battery from the controller
3. wait for a bit, reattach battery, then USB, then adapter, then mic cable to adapter
4. Everything should now be default.

Then set audio levels for the headset (make sure loudness is maxed).

Turn down the audio on your mic, then turn UP the audio on the adapter.

Then press mic audio on the headset, and you should be all good.

It's very convoluted and annoying, but be a little patient with it and you should get then. Just follow each setup carefully and good luck!

I heard it would work if I connect the mic to xbox via usb, and connect the mic to the 3.5mm adapter jack that goes to mic jack and headset jack. And connect that adapter to my controller. Idk if that is true though

I am buying the Xbox mic tonight and hope that this works but, in this solution you gave me is to buy an adapter makes the wireless wired or in other words return the astros A20 and buy a headset that has a controller adapter to connect to the headset..
How can I use a wireless headset? I will find out tonight if this works with the original headset mic for Xbox.
