Can a Xbox series X overheat without a notification or turning off?

It is possible for an Xbox Series X to overheat without showing any notification or turning off. Overheating can cause the system to become unstable and crash, which may be the cause of your Xbox crashing to the dashboard.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

Make sure your Xbox is properly ventilated and not surrounded by any obstructions that may block airflow.

Clean the vents and fans of the Xbox to remove any dust or debris that may be blocking airflow.

Check that the power supply is properly connected and that there are no issues with the power outlet.

Try playing games at lower graphical settings or reducing the resolution to reduce the strain on the system.

Consider placing a cooling pad underneath your Xbox to help dissipate heat.

Notifications can be configured per match. You can turn them all off and then turn on for games you want or vice versa. In the match details page for the given match press the X button to toggle notifications.

Are you sure it´s not the power button?

Sounds like it´s stuck.

The power supply can´t turn your xbox on, it just turns it off if it overheat and such.

I tried all of that but it didn’t work.I also changed my xbox one x to a well ventilated place and it doesn’t work. Also now the new game I got,Jedi Fallen Order, is starting to overheat my xbox and turns it off.

In my experience the notification about overheating occurs after you turn the console back on after letting it cool down, about an hour. I've never seen it before it turns off, and only had overheating on a Xbox One X. The side tiny vents were blocked with dust which required vacuuming out every other month.

Elden Ring is resource intensive. Could you hear Series X fan working overtime while you were playing?

If so I would send the console back to get repaired and / or replace it.
