can a used xbox 360 console have hardware that will steal you xbox account

i just got a xbox 360 console off of amazon and i was wondering if there could possibly be any hardware installed in the console itself that would steal my account information (passwords, payment info) and send it to someone or some server.

(i did make a previous post but it gave me an error before i could ask this queston)

Hello Kate, if it is a 360 console you will have to download your profile (account) on Xbox 360.

If it's Xbox One, you can add your Microsoft/Xbox account on the console even if there are other accounts on the console.

Or you can factory reset the console and this will erase all data and games from the previous owner.

Unfortunately, on the Xbox One or the website, you will HAVE TO use a credit card or PayPal to make Xbox 360 related purchases.

If you own a real Xbox 360 console (or are able to visit a friend with a real Xbox 360 console), you can sign in on that Xbox 360 console, and buy the desired items with your Gift Card credit on your account.

The purchase is then tied to your account, and also available on your Xbox One (provided the game is a backwards compatible game).

But on the Xbox One or the store on the Xbox website, you can't buy Xbox 360 items with Gift Card credit.

If you're worried about your Credit Card security on your Microsoft Account:

Make sure that you have Two Step Verification enabled on your account (check that at

https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage) and that you are using an Authenticator App on your smartphone. That way, a hacker that tries to sign into your account is being asked for a code that only your phone can provide. So unless the hacker manages to physically
steal your phone, no one can access your account.

And even if they manage to get into your account, Microsoft only shows the last 4 numbers of your credit card. So they can't steal your credit card information.

It sounds like the Xbox Live Gold subscription is on your account and not your sons. Hopefully, you are using an Xbox One rather than an Xbox 360. You need to sign in on the Xbox One with the account that has the subscription and make that Xbox the Home
console. Once you do that, any account that uses that console can access most Gold subscription features without your account needing to be signed in.

Xbox Live subscriptions are attached to the account rather than the console unless you make that console the Home console.
