  1. Can a USB track pad be paired with the XBOX Adaptive Controller?

To be clear, both left and right USB ports on the Adaptive Controller work fine when an analog joystick is plugged in. I purchased a new USB track pad https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PGFHJDY/ that
works fine when plugged into the computer, however, nothing happens when the track pad is connected to either USB port on the Adaptive Controller. When first plugging the track pad into the computer, there's a brief delay while a system message pops up saying
'setting up device'. Once it's ready to use, in the settings, the track pad is labelled 'HTX HID Device'. A little blue indicator light on the track pad illuminates when plugged into the computer. It also illuminates while plugged into the Adaptive Controller,
just nothing else happens so I don't believe it's a problem with the track pad being too power-hungry.

I'm a quadriplegic so I really look forward to using the track pad with the Adaptive Controller instead of a joystick. How do I get it to recognize the track pad?

    Thanks for reading.

Thank you for such an authoritative answer. I went ahead and ordered a couple joysticks from https://warfighterengaged.org/shop/palmstix that are arriving tomorrow.
They even retain the function where pressing down on them is a button click that can be mapped.

Thanks for your time researching, it's much appreciated!

xbox one wireless adapter DOES NOT EVEN WORK. AT ALL.

First check device manager, (Win+X->Device Manager) if you actually see under Network Adapters something like "Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows". If you see "XBOX ACC" then right click, "Update Driver Software"->"Search automatically for updated driver
    software".

Next make sure there are charged batteries in the controller

For pairing your controller to the adapter, either

    * Connect the usb controller through a USB cord (you can use one used for phones, one end micro USB, the other USB), wait for a little while, the driver will automatically pair the wired controller to the adapter, unplug and it should flash and find the
    adapter (light would turn solid)

    * OR, press the pairing/enroll button on the adapter, then press the pairing/enroll button on your controller, light on the controller should flash and then turn solid once paired.

    Xbox adaptive controller

Can the Xbox Adaptive controller be paired with a controller, so that all buttons function as normal but the left thumb stick function gets replaced (reassigned) to the left track pad but all other controller buttons, triggers, and right thumb
stick function as normal on the wireless controller?
The simple answer is yes, you will be able to set it up doing what you desire in conjunction with the copilot system.
