Call of lag or call of already lost matches. How about...call of where did my team go

This edition is running worse than ghost, and I didn't even think that was possible.

90% of matches you get into are 30 seconds from being over, or if your lucky enough to get in one from the beginning 4 of your team bails due to being tired of running 2 seconds behind everyone on the other team.

This is the first time in a call of duty where I've fallen over dead for no reason. Just to see in the kill cam someone has come around the corner and blasted me....yet never rendered on my screen. Hope 3arch gets this under control. Didn't think it was
possible to hate a cod more than ghost.

Used purchase, this or Battlefield3?

Battlefield 3 is easy to transfer to from Call of Duty. Look for operation metro team death match exactly like Call of Duty.

Don't get me wrong. This game is beautiful when you can get into a low lag game from the beginning and your team doesn't bail.

Unfortunately those are far and few between so far,. It has gotten better since launch, but not.much better.

You know it's bad when people are taking 5-6 gorgon shots to go down (I'm talking to the chest with no cover)

 

Launch night was fine for me. However yesterday was terrible. Couldn't join a match at first... took over 20 minutes. Then once I was finally able to join, lag was terrible and downright non-playable, and what was worse, it looked like the graphics were
taking a significant hit as well. It honestly looked and felt like I was playing an FPS from the 90's. Not sure what's going on. I rarely come on these forums, but felt the need to after last night's experience.

 

I've had no lag issues during or after launch....maybe check your Network (IP Settings, change passwords, etc...)

 

I know that's the standard reply, but it really makes no sense when it's the only game having this issue on my network. I did the Xbox Advanced Diagnostic last night... 48 down, 11 up, and 85 ms. Something is up with the COD servers...

 

Zero lag issues here either.

 

BTW change passwords wont fix lag.

 

My experience has been so bad, I requested and received a refund for the game. It was more of the same last night when I played. First time I've been this frustrated with a game... Thanks MS for granting the refund.

 

I have to commend MS for the refund... It's not often that you see that. I too feel a bit cheated by the way the connection thing hasn't been resolved. I think mainly because of how the searching and player placement inside of the games goes. This is
not just call of duty, but others as well. I study networking so think what you want, but here's my thoughts and Teli-Tuby description of why WE get F'd...

If you think of your connection as a city or your development in this city. There are people who pay for very expensive houses, mid ranged houses, and don't pay at all for their housing. What you probably don't know (some of you out there are young) is
that the government spreads out lower income families throughout your beautiful housing developments in order to keep from having really bad and really good areas of the city. *Not all but most do to keep from having "Projects". If you google section 8 areas
you will probably be surprised at what you find close to you.

Coming back to our connections, some of us pay for really good internet speeds, some mid range, and some just take what they can get. In my opinion, the game developers as well as MS do a pretty poor job of marrying up connections and spread the bad with
the good just to be fair to all customers, as customer satisfaction sells units. In my opinion you should not be penalized by having a good connection. Place the good with the good and the bad with the bad....

I will also help those out who cannot grasp this concept with another association to this city we all live in. Inside of this city are beggers who make money off of those working hard to pay their bills and make money the honest way. As a product of society,
they won't stop begging until people stop giving them hand outs. Why stop trying to get away with a poor, low budget connection if the developers and console providers continuously help me out by putting me with people that have good connections. Once again,
a product of their society.

And most of you that argue are probably the one's with the low budget connections... Sorry to say it, but you should be placed in a room with like connection types NOT to be mistaken by like ping ratings... Force out all of the crap connection signals,
hence rid the problem of laggy games. See it for what it is and let's move into an era of true Next Generation.

Funny you mention that. I had an excellent experience on launch night. Game was flawless. I even thought it to be the best COD to date, just IMO (at that time). It was smooth and fun like COD used to be.

Now, for me at least, it's unplayable. I'm a grown adult, and don't come to the forums much and have never asked for a refund, but that's how unhappy I was with this game. It's hard to describe. Not sure if it was lag, but I could literally see frame
rate drops. A simple example was when I would pan left to right. Normally, as we know, it's supposed to be smooth with a few expected hiccups here and there. Well the last few nights, when I would pan while aiming down sights it was jerky. Even panning
really slow, it was like it just couldn't keep up. Basically impossible to play at that point. I may re-purchase it at some point. Hopefully they can work it out.

After one last chance last night with BO3, I fired up Titanfall just to test the speed/smoothness of that game. As usual it was blisteringly fast. Granted, it only has a fraction of the traffic on their servers, but still, there's your answer.

 

wait, they said they would release a new game on a 3 year rotation versus 2, which is why they introduced a 3rd development team. Well, after 3 years of polishing a turd it's still crappy at best.

The lag is horrible regardless of your internet connection. Did they completely scrap the beta version? It seemed to run much better! Such a huge disappointment!!!

 

@HailJack: Idk why per say there is a difference as I am not privy to the back end of the game, but something, somewhere changed, and in my opinion not for the good. Maybe for the good of those who were plagued by latency, but what that usually means is
like what I said above, they spread out all of the bad apples to where everyone is miserable and not just the bad apples. The proof is in the pudding, and after playing these games since the beginning COD2, you can pretty much feel the changes they make.
What you speak of is frame rate issues that probably arise from who or where you are connected to. I have heard that they are using a hybrid system where sometimes you are connected to a dedicated server and other times you are peer to peer. Neither in
my opinion is working well right now, EXCEPT for what I have seen for Halo 5.... That system is working to a T.. Kinda makes you question the amount of time, effort, and money MS is paying Activision to make it run well on the X1... I'm no genius, but when
you look at the amount of downplay MS made regarding the release of COD BLOPS3 you start to question the amount of effort put into making it run well... Titanfall runs on Azure which is the MS based cloud system so there's another game that is going to run
smooth as hell by default because it's theirs!!
