Call of duty update is massive for some reason

I’m trying to update call of duty but it is trying to update 231 gigabytes where as other peoples are like 20-30 gigabytes, and it said installation stopped when I checked it then started doing the huge update

To set your expectations properly, you are not alone because other players have reported similar issues with unexpectedly large Call of Duty updates. There are times, the system miscalculates the update size, making it seem much larger than it actually is and restarting the system can sometimes trigger a full reinstall instead of just an update, which might explain the sudden jump to 319GB1.

The possible fix is to let the installation process continue and it may correct itself and show the actual update size as it progresses. Other gamers have experienced this on their end too and the update size corrected itself.

If the issue persists, kindly check if unnecessary game components such as campaign modes or extra content are being included in the update by default.

Update: it works when fortnite is launched but for some reason with nba 2k21 or call of duty it does not.

For some reason the multiplayer reminds me of Call of Duty.

Basically think of it this way:

Immediate Update: Kicks you off the multiplayer game session for the game, if say in Call of Duty there was a massive bug being exploited and it needed to be patched immediately, and you were in a Call of Duty
multiplayer session this would kick you off the game.
Non-Immediate Update: An App update for one of your Apps or a new achievement, downloads in the background/later on.
