Call Of Duty DMZ proximity chat not working. the questions asked here are incorrect.

-by DMZ, it means the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare gamemode. Not Demilitarized Zone on a router. By proxy chat, it doesnt mean party chat. In game, when you are close to a player, you should be able to hear them. although i personally am not having this issue as i am on PC, my friends who are using the Xbox X cannot hear this proximity chat. It may be because they are already in a seperate xbox party, but on my pc i am also on an xbox party but can hear the in game proximity chat. My friend can see that there are people close by, because when other players are talking, it comes up with a little icon on the left of the screen however he cannot hear them. Is this just a bug? I know call of duty has stopped regular updates for dmz so this may be something to do with it. It's also important to note we have the exact same in game settings so i know its not just that. i also saw something saying it may be because his controller needs updating which he has just done, although im not sure why this would effect his in game voice chat whatsoever. if i can get a fix that would be great. thanks

You mentioned that your friend was in a separate Xbox party when this issue occurred, it is true that there can be conflicts and compatibility issues with the voice system of the party and the game, in order to check this you can ask your friend to log out of the party and check if they can listen to proximity chat properly.

Also, regarding the troubleshooting steps for updating the controller and such, I'm leaning more towards it being for fixing the audio issue, but as it turns out, the audio inputs and outputs of the Xbox party are fine, which suggests that the controller, the headset, and the Xbox shouldn't be the problem.

I would further suggest that you report this issue to the officials of this game, as the developer and operator of the game, they have the resources and ability to investigate this issue and provide you with more specialized guidance.

Same here. I cannot get the kinect to work for chat in Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer.

Proximity voice chat doesn't work in Free Mode, but it works for me and friends in Deathmatch.

I read on the case that you need Kinect to use prox chat, but that is for SP to lure guards.
