Call of Duty Black Ops 4 - How do I turn off "blood & gore"?

I understand that this game has a setting inside the game that allows you to turn off "blood & gore." However, I can't figure out how to control/lock that for my child. All I can find is how to block content as a parent based on age categories. How do
I, as a parent, enable my child to play the game... but ONLY with the blood/gore setting OFF? It seems that the setting inside of the game could easily be changed back to ON without my permission. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums today.

So I see you are looking for a way to use your parental control's for Xbox services to prevent your child from changing in-game settings. Unfortunately, the Xbox Family parental settings you can place on you child's account does not take affect on in-game
specific settings like the blood/gore option, only Xbox related services and settings.

There is no feature currently in place to restrict the player from changing in-game settings. Only to restrict accessing the content itself or social features on Xbox. Unless the developers make something like that an option where they would implement some
way to place a password of some kind to the in-game settings that could only be verified by an adult which would require another form of verification to prove the one making those changes is an adult.

Thanks for your quick and definitive reply. I'll have to forego buying the game for now, unfortunately. Too bad there isn't a version available that eliminates that visual content (which obviously the developers can do, as demonstrated by the presence
of the in-game setting), as well as the coarse language. Oh well, at least that enables me to keep those $50 in my own pocket for now! Thanks again.

Thanks. As I mentioned, I am aware of that setting. My question was about whether that setting could be ‘locked’ using Parental Controls. Apparently the answer is ‘No.’ That’s too bad...
