    Cable TV Issues


    Hello,

    Last night, my XBOX media hub was working fine. I was able to watch TV, use voice commands, and change the channels through Glass on my iPhone. This morning I turn on my XBOX and it boots to TV, but it can't find the signal through my cable box. I realize
    that it never turned the cable box on, so I turn it on manually. The voice commands worked, but the image on the screen was 4x3 and not 16x9. I decided to turn my XBOX off, and start it up again. I always use my controller to turn on my system. When I
    turned the XBOX on again, the console was the only thing that powered up. My Kinect did not turn on nor did my TV or cable box.

    I'm hoping to resolve this before Sunday as I have signed up for the NFL Ticket and through my XBOX.

    Any ideas what this could be?

    Telus Optik tv hangs up when watching tv (Canada only)

    I'm having issues with my cable box while watching tv. It works for a few moments and then the tv seems to hang there for a few seconds, almost like buffering. I tried changing hdmi and I'm pretty much ruled out any cable connection issues. I know one
    guide doesn't currently work in Canada but you should still be able to watch tv and use your own cable remote. I even tried disconnecting from the Xbox entirely just to see if it was the cable box it worked fine when it was run right to the tv. Is anyone else
    having issues like this?

    problem streaming cable TV through xbox one

    I had no issues with streaming cable TV through my new xbox one (HDMI cable from cable box into xbox one), then suddenly it no longer picked up the cable TV signal. I know the cable TV signal is fine since I can re-route the HDMI through my receiver and
    pick up the TV signal fine. Is it possible that the xbox HDMI jack has failed? Or some other reason that it would suddenly stop picking up the cable TV signal?

    It could be an issue with either the TV or the HDMI cable. Have you tried to use a different cable or hooked up the composite cables to test?

    If you connect the composite cables and this issue no longer occurs then the issue would lie with the TV itself.

    Hi there,

    I personally haven't seen this issue befor in the forums.

    My advise is to try another HDMI cable, and be sure to check if all other cables are connected correctly to the console/tv by reconnecting them.

    If the cable does not help, try another hdmi port on the TV, or even a different TV. This way you will be able to determine what part is causing this issue. The cable, the console or the TV.

    Hi there,

    as additional things to try please double check all cables if they are connected firmly and if you have a spare cable for the cable(s) between TV and console and try those , like the HDMI cable to see if that makes any difference.

    Also if possible try to see what happens if you connect the console to a different TV.

    This is all to determine what device/cable is causing the issue.

    If for example a different cable fixes the issue, then it's the cable. If the console (and audio) works on a different TV then it's related to the TV etc.

    Try, if you be available to do it, a different HDMI Cable or in a different TV/Monitor. And see if come up with the same issue. This could help see if really the issue is in the console or is in the cable or TV.

    Hey there, as a test, are you able to connect a different A/V cable to the same TV, and/or connect the same cable to a different TV and observe the results? Depending on what happens we can single out if the issue lies with the cable, Xbox or TV.
