Cable set top box in different room than xbox one

So, I'm buying an xbox one next week and I really am looking forward to watching tv through it as i have no cable box in my room. Now my question is if i run the hdmi cord from the cable box in my living room to the xbox in my room will the cable box in
the living room be unaffected? Meaning would i be able to watch tv in my room(off the xbox) while someone else watches tv in the living room? Any help would be much appreciated!

    :)

Every game that is out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 I will only buy the Xbox One version, I feel like my 360 come November will just be a set top box in a different room for Netflix

Cloud Storage - Does anyone actually use it?

I used to have 2 xboxes in different rooms so would have used it if it was around then.

    .

One of the boxes red ringed, so I just move the funcing xbox from room to room. At least I have 2 sets of cables I can leave in place.

I found this link for you too https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/live-tv/poor-video-performance

Solution 1: Check your HDMI cables or try a different one

A damaged or incorrectly connected HDMI cable can prevent the video signal from reaching your Xbox One correctly.

    • Check your HDMI cables to make sure they’re securely connected to your devices and free from damage.
    • Try using a different high-speed HDMI cable. Some cables are higher quality than others, and a low-quality cable can impact your video signal.
Solution 2: Power cycle your set-top box, and then check its settings

    • You may need to power cycle your cable set-top box to clear out incorrect configuration data. To do this, disconnect any cables (including power cables) from the device for 30 seconds or more. Then plug the cables back in.
    • Try restarting the TV app.
    • Try setting your cable set-top box to a video output of 720p.
    • Disable multichannel surround sound (such as Dolby Digital or 5.1).
Note Some cable set-top boxes have other settings that may impact video output. Set-top boxes vary greatly between manufacturers. If you need help checking or configuring your set-top box,
    contact your hardware provider.

Solution 3: Power cycle your Xbox One

To correctly power cycle your Xbox One, follow the steps at How to power cycle your Xbox One console.

    No Audio

I had this exact same problem and struggled with it for a while with my Comcast RNG110 set top box - no audio when going through TV, but all other audio from the XBox One worked. Tried changing a bunch of settings in my set top box and nothing worked. I
figured it was an HDMI cable issue but I didn't have another HDMI cable so I simply switched the cables (the HDMI cable that ran between the set-top box and the XBox now runs between the XBox and the TV and the one from the XBox to the TV now runs between
the XBox and the set-top box). Everything works perfectly now!
