As long as your cable is a USB to micro USB it will work. Most older phones like Blackberry or Samsung smartphones prior to the S8 (S8 and above are USB-C) use Micro USB cables for charging and data transfer. Although these cables are

Yes, any Micro USB cable should work and you shouldn't worry about generic micro USB cables damaging your controller as that is likely just a myth. As long as that cable works and isn't damaged, it shouldn't affect your controller negatively in any way.

hi Coggit you need to have a micro usb cable they are supplied in all xbox one battery packs and many other devices once you have a micro usb cable follow this quick article and you should be fine
