    Bypassing the Microsoft Store Specs put in place for Games and Apps


    Hello.

    I know this has been an issue for years, but i would like to know from a community representative why this is something that has been put in place.

    In regards to what I want to install, I know my PC could run it, not to the best standard though, but still.

    I don't know of any other platforms that enforce these same restrictions. I've used, for example, the Epic Games launcher before, and i happen to be an avid Steam user. Even if there will never be a solution to this problem, then so be it, but i wouldn't
    mind getting an explanation to why this was originally put in place that doesn't end with "Just update your rig".

    Change your store region

    Region restrictions are put in place due to rules and regulations in each country. Stores through Microsoft would do checks for these to make sure people aren't trying to bypass those region restrictions. You're not bound by the same terms of service when using another store.

    You can't bypass age restrictions. The restrictions on that game were placed there by the game's developers, not Microsoft.

    Region Problem

    Region restrictions are generally put in place due to rules and regulations in the area. Bypassing region restrictions can put you at risk for being banned.

    Region blocks are put in place by the publishers/developers, not Microsoft. Reasons on why they're block can be varied but usually it's due to rules and regulations in the countries they are blocked in.

    Use of a VPN to bypass region restrictions violates the terms of service and would put you at risk for being banned.
