    no xbox live connection due to system update errors, multiple attempts. deleted everything off the console. if the internal drive is the problem, should an additional/alternate memory device solve the problem?

    Gta san Andreas not working

    It works so long as you have a Microsoft-branded hard drive. The internal storage of the 4GB 360s does not have enough space space, and third party hard drives are not compatible with the emulator programming.

    USB flash drive doesn't work or appear to bypass the internal memory for the 'system update' still getting the error codes. It did give an option to choose the USB storage for small update BO2 game. That downloaded fine. It's Xbox live system update not
    downloading. last option is try a hard drive in the caddy slot, although my bet is the 'system' update has to run through the built in memory, and can't be bypassed. where are you Microsoft/xbox geniuses?

    If none of the steps work for the console on that guide then a repair may be needed. To start a repair process for the Xbox 360 console you will want to reach out to the
    chat or phone team directly.

    You don't have an internal HDD on a 4GB 360 S. There's a USB-connected 4GB USB flash drive attached to a USB header on the motherboard.

    Yeah, that's a big downside to the 4GB console. If the internal flash goes, there's no non-warranty-voiding way to remove it.

    There is no way to bypass the message. An official MS hard drive is required to play original Xbox games because of the emulation software required. The 4gb is internal flash memory and not an actual hard drive. You would need to by either a 250 gb or 320
    gb hard drive in order to play the game.

    It depends on what you have as internal storage. There were 360s that came with 4GB of internal storage, but that was considered flash memory, not a hard drive.
