Buying Xbox series X as gift

I want to buy an Xbox Series X for my son. There is that Citizens bank loan program through which I could purchase it. My question is: If I buy it, will it be 'assigned' to me? I won't be the end user. My son will. I don't want to take out this loan to buy it and give him something that only I can use.

The payment would be tied to you, but your son could use it.

As stated above, funds from Xbox gift cards are added to your Microsoft account balance. They can be used to buy games/subscriptions on the 360, One, Series S/X, Windows, and you can use them in the Microsoft Store.

You'd probably have to check with Microsoft Store support for information on if there are any gift card restrictions although I doubt there would be, but yes, you can use your Microsoft account balance for purchases on the Microsoft Store. That would include
consoles.
