Buying Xbox One S Games in Thailand and other "unsupported" countries

I just bought an Xbox One S in the US and will take it back home with me when I return to Thailand in a couple of days. Love the platform and really wanted this for my kids.

However, Thailand is not on the supported country list and cannot be selected as a country on the device setup.

I have a Thailand registered account, but will I be able to buy games from the online store when I get there?

A quick look at the local Thailand store doesn't show any Xbox games เว็บไซต์ทางการของ Microsoft Store ไทย - จัดส่งฟรี, ส่งคืนฟรี





I could try setting my account and the Xbox to another country, but I understand the credit card for paying must be from the same locale and my only available credit cards are from Thai banks registered to a Thai bank.

If online download is not possible, what other ways will I have to get games once I get home?

Did I just buy a brick?

PS I have been told by the US support chat line that I would be able to buy games online in Thailand (but now Xbox Live). Is that true, has anyone successfully bought Xbox Games online with a local credit card in an unsupported country?

Why can't I choose Thailand as a location?

I purchased an Xbox One in Dubai. I want to use it in Laos. My credit card is linked to a bank account in Thailand. When setting up the Xbox you have to choose a location. But Thailand is not included in the list of countries. Why not and what can I do to
be able to purchase games using my credit card from Thailand?

 

nope and we can't get into it because you are in a unsupported country

There are work around a but again we can't provide support

 

Games are region free so you should be able to purchase physical titles and still play. You won't be able to purchase digital titles.

I bought as many Physical titles as I could while in the US and can confirm they all seem to play. Before starting most ask for the disk to be inserted as proof of ownership, a minor inconvenience. Now just need to figure out where I can by physical copies
locally so we can add to the collection!

Microsoft .. please figure out a way to make support for all features global in line with the corporate policy of inclusiveness! I understand support language support and Xbox live local latency issues may be a challenge, but that doesn't justify blocking
purchases because payment instrument country and x-box country setting don't match. The big international online retailers (e.g. Amazon) used to have similar restrictions, but nearly all have removed them now. Its a global market, be global!!
