Buying the Destiny 2 Annual Pass

So I've been trying to buy the annual pass for Destiny 2 for about 2 months now and it physically will not let me purchase it in the store. So, today I went to Gamestop and bought what I thought was a code for the pass, while in reality it was simply a code
for a gift card to use on the xbox store for the pass, however I cannot use it because once again, I can't buy it on the store. I personally own the base game and the first two DLC's, and I had a friend who owns forsaken give me his home Xbox so I essentially
have that. I'm hoping you guys can help me get this sorted out quickly so I can play the new content that just released.
