    cant buy minecraft coins on my daughters account , she has credit but it keeps coming up with check internet connection ,

    The internet is working fine and she can go live

    does anyone know what i need to do? and do i need a gold account to do this?

    A gold account is not required to purchase content for a game. Try powercycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down to see if that helps.
