    Buying Mega Man 9


    So I'm trying to buy Mega Man 9 on my PC with Xbox Live. I submitted $25 to my Microsoft account through an Xbox Gift Card so now I'm able to pay for the game (which is $9.99 plus tax). However, when I click "Buy Game $9.99" on the site, I get taken to
    "Change Payment Options." This eventually requests that I pay using a credit card, which I don't want to do. My goal is to pay for the game with the money I have in my Microsoft account.

    Like Smwutches said, you can't use gift cards on to buy backwards compatible games. Only credit, debit or pay pal. The only way you can buy mega man 9 on pc without a credit card would be to buy mega man legacy collection 2. It has mega man 7-10 and
    also has all the dlc for mega man 9 and 10.

    In order to use the funds from your account for that purchase, the purchase would have to be made on a 360 console. The One/website do not see the Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for backwards compatible content.

    I'm not 100% but if it was an Xbox gift card and not a Microsoft gift card you might have to buy the games using a console rather than on a pc

    I'm well aware of that, but Mega Man 9 through Microsoft is only available for the 360. You can purchase it through the website, but only with a credit card/Paypal.
