Buying games with gold

Hi, I don't really know if I'm at the right place for this question but I'll try it here first. Sorry if it's really confusing, I'm french and explaining this is already complicated in my language. So when you grab games with gold they give you a license,
you can rent the game until your gold membership expires, but can you buy the game to own it? All my games with gold have this message on top of them in the store "You can play it for now, or buy it to keep it forever", but buying the game don't make this
sentence go away. Does this option works at the moment? I'm not the kind of guy who like renting things, so it would be nice to be able to buy it to own it.

I got gold and cant get free gold games

After buying a gold card Some of the free games with gold are still charging me am i doing something wrong?

Games with Gold is just a bonus for having a gold susbscription,it's not the reason to have a gold subscription.

There's been several games recently that I have enjoyed & am thankful to even be offered 4 free games per month.

If you are buying gold just for the free games then you are buying it for the wrong reason.

 

Yes, you can buy the game and you will own it. The phrase won't go away until after the games with gold promotion is over for that particular game though.

 

Thanks for the reply, that's great news!, So if I buy Rayman Legends, exemple, that I got with GWG, the message will be there until my subscription ends and then my new license will take over?

 

Usually the message should go away after the game is no longer free, but since that game was free a long time ago, it should go away after you buy it.

 

Really? Well that's weird, I tried two times and the message was still there, maybe it's an account problem. Have you done it or do you know someone who has done it without issues?

 

I haven't done it myself and I haven't seen anyone else with the same issue. As long as the purchase goes through (you can verify on
Sign in to your Microsoft account ) you'll have the license though. So you can really just ignore the message.
