Buying a replacement disc

I have the Limited Collectors Edition and I messed up disc 1 when I knocked the xbox off the shelf. In reading other forum posts, I gather that it is no problem buying a used set. But, when I replace the disc, do I have to get one from a Limited Edition,
or can I get a regular edition?

It is a first party Microsoft game, Microsoft has a disc replacement program for first party titles. contact xbox support
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us and they can set you up for a replacement disc. (but the replacement program still costs $20 for a replacement but that's cheaper than buying a new game disc)

I'd have to agree with ModestElf here, it sounds like your disc needs to be replaced. The Disc Replacement program is a great way to get a new disc without outright buying another copy of the game, as it costs only roughly $20 + tax.

 

I don't know, but if it was me I'd contact Turn 10 first anyway -- they might be willing to swap your damaged disc for free.

 

My Forza 4 game has gotten messed up--starting about a month age, during a flurry of upgrades--and I have spent several long sessions troubleshooting with XBox support. Every step of their troubleshooting protocol has been unsuccessful (only resulting in
losing all DLCs, XP and affinities) ----one support specialist thinks the problem lies with my game disc, as other games play w/o glitches. These are the symptoms: tuning, painting & communications are fine, but when I try to race (including season play and
test drives) the console freezes up on one of the first three loading screens...wondering if I should buy a new disc (or get a replacement )?
