I just accidentally wiped it by pressing format anyways and am currently downloading the games I had on there back onto it because I’m a dummy.

Thankfully I had small games on the external drive .

If you wipe it clean of all your games etc, it should still work on another Xbox One as it`s already been formatted. If it did need doing, they would get an on screen message telling them so and a choice of what the HDD will be used to save.

And you should be able to use all 8TB of your new HDD. I think the maximum total capacity of external memory you can have is 16TB with multiple external HDDs connected, with a maximum of 8TB per HDD.

Yea I did all that plus I ran a test on the hard drive itself

Sorry to hear that, Are you able to test the drive with another console to see if it can be read there?

If not, what happens when you connect the drive to the PC? (Open the disk management app and check if the drive appears there)

If the PC recognize it but the consoles not
Probably something happened to the file system and now is corrupted
In those cases the best option is format the drive :c
