Buying a game for my son - Help Please!

My 17 year old son wants the NCAA 14 game through the XBOX store. We have two XBOX accounts, his and mine. I know that when we bought his one year pass thing to play games we bought it under my account, and we had to contact tech support to transfer it to
his account. I don't play XBOX, I just have an account. However, when I try to buy the game for him under his account, I get a message that he cannot be under 18 to buy this game. What do I do if I want him to get this game? Should I buy it under my account
name? Would he have access to it or would he have trouble downloading it into his account on XBOX? Sorry, I just don't understand how the profiles work when buying stuff for him and I don't want to have the same issue we had when I tried to buy him the yearly
pass.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Buying a REQ Pack for my son

No there is no way to do that, but as stated above you can purchase a Xbox Store gift card and put those funds on your sons account. From there he can purchase REQ packs. Hope this was helpful..

My son wants to spend his money on a REQ pack. He doesn't have a credit card associated with is account. Is there any way I can purchase a REQ pack and "gift" it to his gamer id?

If both accounts are on the same xbox then download it from your account if you have xbox live your account even if its not gold he will still be able to play it if its on the same console. Hope this helped!

Awesome. Yes, he has XBOX live gold but I don't, but we are both on the same console. So, I will go ahead and buy it under my account then.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, so I think I tried this last night and as the game is an 18 I’ve upped his limits to 19 and it still won’t allow him to buy? This is what I get… when I click yes to allow the game it then asks me to pay not him? Hope this makes sense?

If I understood correctly he has the balance on his account. Correct?

If yes, did you tried disabling "Ask to buy" temporarily to see if that helps?

If needed follow these steps:
"Sign in to your Family page with an adult Microsoft account.

https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

Find the child's name and select More options > Spending.
Under the Ask to buy section, switch Needs organizer approval to buy things to Off."
