BUG: Setting store account in PC Xbox App not working?

I'm sorry you're having this issue with your account.

Based on what you've described, it sounds like your Game Pass Ultimate is on a Microsoft account, but your Windows Store on your PC is signed in to a different account.

Unfortunately, Xbox profiles can't be merged or transferred between Microsoft accounts. You also can't "move" a subscription from one account to another. However, here's what you can try to get things working on your PC:

Sign in to the same Microsoft account on all devices:

On your PC, open the Microsoft Store, click your profile icon, and sign out.

Sign in again using the same account that has your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Do the same in the Xbox app and the Xbox Game Bar (Win + G > Settings > Accounts).

Set the correct account as your Store account:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts on Windows.

Under Accounts used by other apps, make sure your Game Pass account is added.

While still in Settings, try going to Accounts > Sign in to work or school to sign out any accounts linked here that may be conflicting.

PowerShell Reset for the Store (if the sign-in buttons or features are unresponsive):

Open PowerShell as an administrator and run this:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Then restart your PC.

Hi, doesn't work in the same way.

On PC it's a bit more different.

For this you need to sign in with your Microsoft account on both Microsoft store and Xbox app.

Make sure to enable offline permissions inside Microsoft store > settings

After that you need to download first the desired games with your account using the Xbox PC app and the you can sign out and sign in with your brother's account.

(But this doesn't work for all games)

Sorry to hear about that, however, please note that gold isn't required if you play on PC.

Thus, you would just need to ensure that you're signed in on the Microsoft store app and Xbox app using the account that you used to buy the game.

If it still won't work, try to check if there are pending updates on your PC. This includes optional updates as well.

Go to your PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates

If it has, check your Microsoft store app > Library > Get Updates and ensure that your apps are up to date.

If it still won't work, try to repair your Xbox app, Gaming Services app and Microsoft store app, by going to your PC settings > Apps > Installed apps > click the 3 dots > Advance options > Repair and do this to the other apps I've listed > Restart your PC.

on a pc and i fixed the issue microsoft store app was bugged took 3 app resets to do it but the issue is fixed

The Home setting only applies on the console, not the PC. In order for your son to use the subscription on the PC, you would need to sign into the store app with your account, and then your son should be able to sign into the Xbox app with his account
and play the games.
