    Hi guys

    i bought this hard drive for xbox one x and my xbox dont see this drive...when i connect to laptop everything is fine...but when i connect to xbox i just hear drive is start running led light are working but manage storage dosent see nothing....hard drive
    was formated to NTFS on laptop

    Doesn't make a huge amount of difference, id go self powered to save on plugs if you have the choice.

    I actually went for a hybrid drive for some of the performance benefits of SSD but the capacity and price of HDD, so mine is powered but it's working great.

    Boot up time with external HDD takes about double the time than without. Is that normal?

    That`s strange. I am using a Buffalo HD-LX3.0TU3-EU Drivestation 3TB.

    When i am turning on my Xbox via Gamepad the white light on the controller begins to blink and search for a connection. Normally the white light stays on and Xbox is booting up within a minute or so.

    But when my external HDD is attached, the white light keeps on blinking for some time and goes out in the end. After my Xbox has finished with the boot up process, I have to turn on my Gamepad a second time in order to use it.

    i've been running all my games and apps off of a
    3TB Buffalo DriveStation     for about 6 months now with no issues, plus it has a 3 year warranty.

    OP, have you done anything with the drive itself? like hook it up to a computer and run the manufactures diagnostics, or maybe format the drive?
