    BSOD Error when launching games from Xbox app


    Recently my gaming PC has started giving a BSOD with the error "kernel mode heap corruption". this only occurs on newly downloaded game from the Xbox app. I've downloaded game from other services and they run flawlessly. I reset drivers for my GPU but still can't figure out what's going on. Any help would be more than appreciated at this point.

    I am having the same issue since 1 day or 2, is your problem over Brian ?

    The only thing I see in my position is that i'm using a new SSD for my OS (cloned from my previous SSD) : can this be the rootcause of the problem ?

    Steam games are ok, rockstar's as well... but xbox app games go "KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION"...

    Precision : it's when the custominstallexec.exe from windows is call to install a store dependencie...

    Hi !

    I've found a solution for now... it seems to have a link with the antivirus on my computer...

    I've made an exception on the xbox games directory and I have no more blue screen (for me it's "C:\XBOX Games").

    I follwed the link that you provided but the error code that BSOD is showing isn't there. Again it says that the error is Kernel_Mode_Heap_corruption

    Hello,

    I've been experiencing this issue as well for a few weeks now. I am an IT guy so I have tried many tricks to fix it, posting to the forums is usually the last resort haha.

    Like other users, I am able to launch games through steam, EA, epic, etc. just fine. Only with Xbox Gamepass on Windows 10 does this occur. With any game launched through Gamepass, I will immediately experience a KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION BSOD.

    Feel like fiddling around with hardware shouldn't be necessary for one single game launcher- as if there is some incompatibility pertaining only to Gamepass that other launchers seems to get on just fine with.
