    Hi,

    Been facing an issue recently where, whenever I am trying to download certain games on PC through the XBox (Beta) app, the PC crashes with with a blue screen of death.

    Happened for Age Of Empires DE and A Plage Tale: Innocence, not sure how many others. Definitely did not happen for Forza Horizon 4 and Alvastia Chronicles. Not sure what the issue is, but I had no problems getting AOE DE through steam.

    Tried some things already:

    - sfc /SCANNOW - detected some network issues and fixed them

    - wsreset - after a few times couldn't sign in to Xbox (beta)

    - uninstalled all xbox (beta) apps and xbox (beta) and reinstalled and then tried installing the games

    - also tried re-registering all windows store apps in case that is the issue

    - tried changing the disk for install

    Apparently no matter what I tried when I try to install those two games via Xbox (beta), the PC just crashes with a BSOD. Might happen for more games, not willing trying on a trial and error as it leaves large chunks files on download failure which cannot
    be removed without changing ownership.

    Hi,

    Would like to add that this might be happening for games with Xbox sign in features integrated and not just larger files. New virtual drives have been created for these and the anti-virus only has a folder exclusion ability.

    Thanks for the help.

    Uninstalling Quick Heal did help however it's the only Anti Virus I have so would keep installed, weird part was that with it installed, adding exceptions as well as disabling all protections temporarily would still create the crash.

    It's something that has come up recently for sure because had AOE DE installed some time back.

    Seems to be a Quick Heal issue though so will check on their forums. In the meanwhile if anyone does encounter the crash due to Quick Heal and managed to fix it please let me know.

    Hi,

    For any one that faces this. Finally got it working after contacting support. It seems like quick heal might be detecting the Xbox app as ransomware. Probably happening now due to the new XVD virual drive creation that came with the April update.

    Disabling quick heal does not work however just disabling Ransomeware Protection from Quick Heal resolved the issue. Much better than having to uninstall and reinstall it during every download and update...

    Just a quick note, if you remove your anti-virus, you'll still have an AV program as Windows 10 has its own AV called Windows Defender and a pretty decent one it is too. I haven't used any third party AV since 2014 and have had no issues. Granted, I know
    a fair bit about PCs as I've putting them together since 2002

    Don't be fooled to think it's not good because it's free, sure there are better, but if your main use of your PC is for gaming, you won't need much else and if you do, I would add Malwarebytes as a little extra protection.

    Thanks for visiting the forums. I've had a little look at your crash dump and it seems to be telling me the error is

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED caused by arwflt.sys

    The file arwflt.sys seems to be a file associated with an application called 'Quick Heal Internet Security'.

    Do you have such an application installed on your PC?
