    Hey,

    I was trying to take advantage of the xbox live gold 30-day free trial advertised to me on my xbox one. It then said to bring my subscription up to date and gave the error message "PUR-XboxSubscriptionMaxOwnershipExceeded." I talked
    to Microsoft Support who indicated I'm not eligible for it since I have had a free trial before. In which case, please do not inundate me with false advertisements!!

    I got the same error when trying to play online on my Xbox One. I checked subscription and it's ok, I can see the payments in my bank account and I even see the next billing date. Help! I have more than 1 month with this issue.

    Hey there JimH96,

    It's possible the ad was showing up on the console if you have other accounts that are not currently Xbox Live Gold subscribers. It's also possible that the advertisement was just there to bring awareness to new accounts. In either
    case, the Microsoft Support team is correct, in that you can only get 1 free 30 day trial through the console, otherwise that error message will show.

    Hi All!

    Possible and common reasons for billing issues, even if you have a good payment method is that the console may be subscribed to an ENTERTAINMENT for all plan. Which means that when the console was initially bought (the ID or serial number) it is somewhat
    linked to the specific account. And that account is responsible for paying the monthly dues.

    Some of our customers wouldn't know this because they have bought the console 2nd hand or it was given to them by a friend.

    The only way to resolve this issue is know and have access to the primary account where the console serial number is attached to (verification, etc.). If you bought it second hand, you can negotiate with the primary owner and change the payment details.
    But of course, in order to make changes, the account needs to be verified by the support. It is best to contact chat or phone support for your options.
