Brief Cases on maps used to detonate stuff

I've seen these cases on various maps and when activated the blow something up... Is there a point to these that I am missing? Strategy based or what? Thanks

Can't blame people for camping.

The game seems to promote camping with those brief cases. I dont camp unless I get a brief case and I try to do the case's objective.

Those darn brief cases!!

When I get one I immediatelyy have to turn facing a dark part of the map and squint my eyes to read what it says. Quite often this means dying.

I could probably start keeping a k/d record just on brief cases.

 

I know the one on Golmund is to stop the train (Base B is it?) and the idea is to stop it so it's closest to your home base and so easier to defend.

The rest I haven't got a clue.

 

They are like an I.E.D. and each of them have wires coming out of them. You can follow the wires to see where the detonation will be, and use it to try and blow up a tank or whatever.
