    Bricked Xbox One S - Fails to do Offline System Update and Full Factory Reset


    My Xbox One S on startup gives me the E106 error, I tried doing the Offline System Update (OSU1), but then it would fail on Step 2 (verification) on 57%. Full factory reset also fails it doesn't get past 9%

    The OS Version I am on is: (19041.2583.amd64fre.vb_release_xbox_dev_2006.200609-0000

    Any solution to this would be appreciated

    No first after you remove the program you factory reset hard meaning erase everything

    Then do a normal reboot and update

    You do a offline update you will brick your system

    Hi Kelly,

    To clarify, do you receive an E [number] error code? Are you an Xbox Insider?

    If you’ve performed a factory reset and even the removing everything option failed, try an offline system update (OSU1 for an Xbox One S console) as this should resolve the issue.

    Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your Xbox One S is only able to turn on by accessing the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, and you are getting stuck on the green and black screen. This type of issue is related to a system update
    error. We have a support article that provides
    solutions for system update issues    . Have you completed either a full or soft factory reset. The full factory reset will erase everything while a soft factory reset keeps games and applications installed. Have you tried performing an offline system update?
