Brand new xbox x wont install or update new physical game

I purchased the new xbox x series yesterday and a physical box game starfield I did the console update put in the new game starfield and it says installed but need to update so I update now and has error code can't update contact xbox support which I do they have me reset and it still not updating game

Hi Allison, I’m Ryan.

Just to confirm, when you say physical game, do you mean it’s on a disk? If it’s not digital, try installing it offline by following the steps under the first solution here:

If you were asked to perform a factory reset, I’m not sure why Xbox Support advised this as it’s brand new so that wouldn’t really make a difference. Have you tried to hard reset your console? Be sure to disconnect the power cable (ideally from both the console and wall outlet if possible) for at least 10 seconds before reconnecting everything to completely reset the power supply.

I'm in the same boat .. My X box was working just fine and then all of a sudden after the new dash update it wont read games I bought a brand new game and haven''t even been able to play it because it wont read it .. it will read music CD's but not game
discs .. this is beyond frustrating .. it was WORKING JUUUST FINE before the update.. is there no way to just revert my X box to the previous update.. and use that ?

You can get Gold Live trials with some physical disc of games, or with brand new Xbox One S and X models. I hope this helps you to understand where to go!

I just bought a brand new Xbox One X, but when I go to the store, Flight Simulator and other Xbox Series X/S games say they are "not playable on this device" and I can't get Flight Simulator to install on my brand new Xbox One X because it says it's "not compatible". Very frustrating.

So you bought an Xbox One X and expected to be able to play an Xbox Series X game on it?

Why would a game made for an Xbox Series X work on an Xbox One X?

If you want to play Xbox Series X/S games I would take your brand new Xbox One X back to the store you bought it and see if they will take it back and you could try and buy an Xbox Series S (Series X consoles are very hard to find, but a Series S can be found fairly easilly)
