Brand New Xbox Series S Controller disconnecting

I had the same problem but I sent a series s controller and I got a one s controller in return, and the series s controller I sent came with my Xbox, brand new

i have same issue

Xbox Series S controller freezes and disconnects but the light on the controller stays on,
The problem happened to me a lot and the batteries are new, and i did power cycle, The device and the control were updated

my device xbox Series s, i got it two days ago

Xbox series s, wired, or my brand new un used wireless controller that came with the console, it doesn’t matter, and a wired steel series headset. I have not changed the setup in a couple years

I fixed the issue, I returned the controller at Best Buy (garbage) and bought a new Series 2 at Walmart brand new. Now connects to Xbox Accessories. Other use probably disconnected controller while updating it and returned to Best Buy, then Best Buy resold it as "excellent" condition.
