    Brand new Xbox One X won't update and USBs don't work


    So I brought home a brand new Xbox One X today to replace my existing Xbox One.

    When it starts up it requires an update, no probs I think. I have it hard wired to modem which worked perfectly 5 mins ago on original Xbox. This is where the 'fun' begins.

    I tried the update 5 times over wired and each time it fails at the 'verify' stage. So it downloads the 1 GB update and then fails at the verify stage and I get all the error codes. I tried it both through wired and wifi and fails on both.

    So after some googling I found out about the update from USB. Downloaded the update and put on a USB and started Xbox in 'safety' mode. The One X doesn't seem to recognise the USB. So I tried it in the other two ports, still couldn't pick it up. So I think
    must be a faulty USB. I then tried 2 other USBs.... Xbox One X doesn't recognise all 3 USB in any of the 3 USB ports.

    So I then tried the factory reset and then tried the update... Fail. Did another factory reset and tried 3 USBs again. Fail.

    So I'm now stuck as I don't know what is left to try. I've spent hours on this and now seriously
    [Mod Removed - Profanity] off . I've plugged my original Xbox One back in and it's working fine ..

    Have I just bought a 'bricked' Xbox One X???

    Yeah it does sound like you have a faulty console. The best thing to do as M3tal Daz3 stated is to take it back to the retailer, and get a refund or replacement.

    If you followed the troubleshooting steps correctly and the issue persist you should contact your retailer to ask for a replacement of the faulty console you are using currently.

    So I got this error as well. Nothing seems to fix it. I went out and purchased a brand new Xbox One S. Same problem! System installs that fall update patch and boom E200 USB won't fix it either!
