brand new xbox one x controller doesn't work correctly

I am having this problem as well. Brand new series x, brand new controller, brand new batteries. System is up to date and so is the controller. Has to be a software issue, this does not happen on my Xbox One.

It sounds like your X button is just not working and you may need to replace your controller with a new one. Have you tried using the X button anywhere else on your system (such as the dashboard)? If it doesn't work anywhere else, that means that the
mechanism for the button is broken and you will need a brand new controller.

Let me know how this works and if there is any other information you can give, it would greatly help.

My Xbox One is 4 days old, and 2 brand new controllers and 2 brand new headsets later, it still doesn't work. Yes, I have everything connected correctly, have troubleshooted everything 5 x over, but no cigar. It excludes me from my multiplayer games because
no mic, no multiplayer chat. No, I don't own a Kinect. The only solution I am hoping on is to throw even more money than $1,160 at my retailer and purchasing a stereo headset adapter which enables the use of the 360's mic or a $120 Turtle Beach headset. That
said, if it's a firmware or hardware issue then it'll make no difference.

Tried that, this is a brand new controller anda brand new headset.

I've yet to try a Wireless Controller but if that doesn't work then my only option is to either get the xbox serviced which would take too long or get it replaced which would be expensive.
