Brand new XBox One stuck at "You're connected" screen

Can't even get the thing to the point of updating. I entered my network password and it connects right up, next screen simply say "you're connected" and has a green check mark. At the bottom it says Continue. When I select A to continue, I get the little
tone and the Continue "button" moves slightly but it won't advance. Can anyone offer some guidance please? My kids have gone from elation to disappointment as you might imagine. Thanks much in advance. Scott

Xbox 360 s Problem

After a few times of re-igniting my red dot appears and there is nothing on the screen.

Hi

I'm having the same problem and I've got an upset child who was looking forward to playing on it tonight.

I have tried to reboot it, removed batteries from controller, unplugged wires and have even moved it out of her bedroom and connected it in the room so it is closer to router and still no joy.

Somebody must have an answer.

I would run a cable and hard wire it to the internet and start over ...lots of problems when setup with wireless imo...

Thanks Bimnog. Tried that and its not the problem. I did get it to "unfreeze" and was able to update and get to the games. In pure frustration after pressing A and getting no advancement to the next screen, I pressed the A about 10x rapidly. Literally
to prevent me from throwing the thing into a wall and guess what, it advanced! Not sure that's the tech fix but it worked. I moved the console back to WIFI and it worked apart from a bad controller that I have to exchange tomorrow. I want to love this machine
but honestly, the 360 seems like a much better option for the non-hardcore gamer based on the experience so far and from seeing all the problems listed in thread after thread here. Regardless, give the A button some rapid fire love and see if it frees things
up for you as well. Good luck!

I've just had the same problem with a brand new unit. Stuck at 'you are connected'.

Ethio427's fix worked for me. Pressed continue once and nothing happened. Press it twice in succession and all OK. Not a good start. I'm typing this while I wait for a 1Gb+ update to load.

Brand new Xbox and stuck on this screen. Have reset password, added a phone number and logged in on another device. Nothing has worked! How do you get hold of Xbox support?

Im also having this disc issue with L4D2 on my BRAND NEW Xbox one. Should have just stuck with 360.

Hey there Husky! Can you provide us some screenshots of what you are seeing? Is the account that is trying to log in to the console a Japanese account? If you are unsure, you can check by logging in to
https://billing.microsoft.com with that account and clicking on "Go to personal information". Have you tried multiple accounts on the console, or does it show this Japanese content when no one is logged
in? If everything is supposed to be US/English, I'd say take it back for a replacement at the retailer. Let us know, thanks!

From what I have seen/experienced myself that is not normal for it to be displaying in Japanese. Especially given its is a new out of the box console.

If it was me I would be returning it asap to the place of purchase.

Mine was stuck on green screen for over an hour. Talked to xbox support. They had me reboot it a few times. Now I'm stuck with a black screen. I called amazon.com and they are overnighting me a new one.
