Brand new Halo Series X, potential GPU or HDMI issue? Maybe a fluke thing?

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I got a brand new Series X, set it up and downloaded halo infinite with no issues. After starting my first game I played for about 10 minutes, then the game froze and instantly this screen I am attaching a photo of popped up. when this happened I held down the Xbox button to turn it off and unplugged and plugged back in all cables. went on to play over an hour after with no issues but this still has me concerned. Anyone ever seen this so soon after unboxing the console? There was no easily identifiable warning before this happened, I've seen slight fragmentation for sometimes weeks before on other gpus before something like this happens and usually they would be unusable after, but I'm not terribly familiar with xboxs.

No worries, glad to help. Yes, if you could do a test with some games, and try to put your hardware to a bit of stress, just to see how it behaves, any sign of issues, yes, send it to warranty Shappy.

Appreciate the speedy reply! So you think just keep using it and first sign of any issues(if any arise) just send it in? Going to have a lot of time to try different games on it and see how it goes tonight.

So sorry for this issue. But ok, for sure, this is not normal to happen. Might be just a simple glitch, but we couldn't know for sure.

I advise you to keep an eye out for any performance issues, weird noises and most importantly, for the console turning off by itself. If anything happened, I suggest you activate your warranty.

Click on the "Enter" option, it will take you to your registered devices page, select "more details" in your xbox, then it will take you to a page that will inform your console warranty, below will have the option "Start Order" then, just follow the steps from there.
