Bought Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (for PC and Xbox games) on PC, but it's not working on the Xbox.

This is super confusing and I'm not sure where else to ask. I recently got a new PC, and for some reason, when I set it up and used my gmail account as my primary account for the whole computer to login, it automatically stuck my gmail account as the one to use for the Microsoft store. BUT, my very old hotmail account is the one I use for my Xbox Live stuff, where I created my original Xbox Live account and use to login on the console.

It literally won't let me change the Microsoft store account to my hotmail one. When I try, it says I'm not allowed to use personal accounts.

But weirdly, the Microsoft Store App, despite using my Gmail account, is somehow linked to my Xbox gamertag and actual hotmail microsoft account. When I purchase games on my PC through the Microsoft Store and play them on the PC, I'm automatically signed in and playing as my Xbox Gamertag. So, I didn't think there was an issue.

However, now I just bought Xbox Games Pass Ultimate on my PC in the Microsoft Store app. It works on my PC, I can now install and play Game Pass games there -- but it's not reflecting that I've bought game pass at all on my actual Xbox. And I checked, the subscriptions page actually says I have "Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" NOT "Xbox Game Pass for PC" so I was under the assumption that included console and PC game pass.

Is there some way to merge my gmail and hotmail Microsoft accounts? I don't know how they are somehow linked and yet buying the subscription on one didn't apply to the other. I saw you could add an alias (an alternate email address) to use to login with on your Microsoft Account, but that doesn't work either. It won't let me add my Gmail to my hotmail one or vice versa because it says you can't use an email address already in use.
