Bought a game, factory reset my PC and I have to buy it again to play.

Almost exactly a year ago, I bought sea of thieves and was playing it a bunch then stopped, and eventually had to reset my computer due to a bug. I decided to start playing again but when I went to the microsoft store, I had to buy it again? On the normal
sea of thieves there wasn't even a buy or download, I had to go to sea of thieves founder edition! I went to my library and it didn't show up there either. Is there a fix for this or am I stuck having to pay again for the game?

Yeah i'm an idiot and was using the wrong account cause I had started using a new one. I got it all worked out, getting happily attacked by the kraken now. Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Sorry you're experiencing this issue.

Just keep in mind that you have to be signed into the account on your PC that you previously purchased Sea Of Thieves on.

Because you bought the game two years ago on Xbox, it's unlikely you'll get a refund for it and will have to buy the game again on PC,

I bought Modern Warfare for day one release on Xbox and a couple years later, i got it for PC for which i had no choice but to buy it again if i wanted to play the game on PC.

Only games that support Play Anywhere can be bought on the Xbox and also played on the PC (or vice versa) without having to buy them again. That game is not Play Anywhere, so you would have to purchase it for PC in order to play it on the PC.
