Bots keep ruining my life.

As Xbox Live has been around for decades, it's to be expected that the more simpler Gamertags have already been taken. Some users may choose not to share any Gamerscore information, to protect their privacy, so it's not really fair to call *every one of
them* bots.

If you keep an eye on Xbox Wire, or Major Nelson on social media, there will be more information on the freeing up of dormant Gamertags every few years. They are mentioned, but not named, so you will have to be super imaginative to find one that works for
you!

Also to note, is that Microsoft announced a change to the Gamertag system, which now incorporates a Discord-style numerical suffix to a Gamertag. More

Please also keep in mind, that the "gamertag" could be used for a Microsoft Account for office products.

Unfortunately nothing can be done about thay at the moment but soon Microsoft will be deleting accounts that haven't been active in 2 years so you may get the chance to claim one of those gamertags in the future.
