    Both Xbox Elite 1 & 2 controllers have disconnect issues whether wireless or wired


    I bought the Elite 1 controller back in 2015 or 2016 and used with my Xbox One until around 2017 and then stopped playing.

    Last August, I got out the controller again, bought a Microsoft Xbox wireless adapter so I could play using my computer.
    I had connectivity issues with the controller randomly disconnecting, whether I used it wired or wireless.

    So, September I bought the Elite 2 assuming it would not have this problem.... well, it has the same problem.

    The Elite 1 uses its own cable, as it requires a USB mini connection, the Elite 2 has it's own USB cable as it uses USB C.

    The Elite 2 has an additional issue in that many times it will power down for no reason.

    I have read hundreds having these same issues and I don't understand how it can be such a huge issue with a product that has been sold for 10 years and still not fixed?

    I hope someone can get these to work, as I'm about to just purchase a different brand and be done with Microsoft products if they won't support them.

    Wired versus Wireless Controllers/Headsets

    I have both Wired and wireless controller and Headset.

    Controllers:Xbox standard,Elite and Hyperkin.

    Headphone:Turrtle beach elite 800x,Wired Senheisser and occasionally apple ear pods :)

    Charge:Using an Panasonic eneloop. PRO.

    Suggestion:

    Combo1: Controller wireless+Headeset wired

    Combo2:Controller Wired+Headset wireless.

    Try to avoid:Both wired. :)

    Hey Tyler,

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your Elite 2 controller :/ Here's some questions/things you can try that might tell us more (totally understand that you probably can't try all of them):

    1. Have you tried any other controllers with your Xbox and do they ever exhibit this issue (disconnecting while wireless)?
    2. Does your Elite 2 controller have the same issue (disconnecting while on wireless) on other Xboxes?
    3. Have you tried a hard reset on your Xbox just to rule that out?
    4. Have you tried removing the batteries from the Elite 2 controller while disconnected from the cord? (like controller hard reset)
    5. Have you checked to make sure the battery are seated firmly in the controller and that the back plate fits snugly?
    6. Have you tried syncing your Elite 2 controller to another Xbox, and then re-syncing it back to your own Xbox?

    Hopefully this will help us determine if it's your controller or Xbox that is causing the problem!

    Yeah, i have 2 wireless controls and connect fine if i put 2 wired and 2 wireless connect togheter, the wired connect to player 1 and wireless connect to player 2 and the other to player 3. The problems is only in the wired conttrols, they connect both
    to player 1.

    Controller disconnects even when attached with USB.

    I have the same issue. Both wired and wireless controller disconnects with a 1TB XBOX one, started when the console was 2 1/2 months old. Sent it in for repair, came back with same issue. I have tried multiple new controllers, 5 different USB cables,
    etc. Its a fundamental issue with some XBOX ones is my opinion. Perhaps the wireless logic is hanging off the USB internally, and the issue is not with the wireless or the usb cables or the controller, but with the USB hub inside the xbox one (on the motherboard).
    Dunno. I like the original poster tried everything. Going to use the advanced repair next. After that? PS4, no sh*t. Controller issues are infuriating.
