Borderlands 3 Crashing.

Im having the same problem with Borderlands 3, its on a open shelf and a fan near by the help with ventaltion but still shuts down ...!

This is a known issue with Borderlands 3 (and other games like Call of Duty).

Also: Is your console enrolled in the Insider Preview Program? If so, please send feedback right after your console has crashed, in order to help pinpoint the issue.

Some people had some luck changing Borderland 3's graphics to "Performance" on the Xbox One X to get rid of the crashing.

what worked for me was to turn on (or if it was on, turn it off\on again) the YCC 4.2.2 under video modes

Let's try reading your profile

Step 5: Remove and re-add your profile

If the profile on your Xbox One console is causing the gameplay issue, the profile data for the game might be corrupted. You can fix this by removing this profile from the console and then downloading it again. To remove your
profile:

1. Press the Xbox button
    to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system >
   Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
   
3. Select the account you want to remove (the one that’s experiencing the gameplay issue), and then select
   Remove.

Now download your profile again to create a fresh version of your profile data:

1. Press the Xbox button
    to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system, select
   Add or switch, and then select Add new.
3. Type in the email address and password that you use to access your Microsoft account (the same account that you just removed).
   
   Important Make sure that you do
   not select Get a new account unless that’s what you want to do. If you select
   Get a new account, you will create a brand-new Microsoft account.
   
4. Follow the prompts as the console walks you through account setup steps such privacy info, sign-in, and color preferences until you return to the
   Home screen.

Once you have completed the process of re-creating your profile on the Xbox One console and have returned to the Home screen, try to play your game again.

If this step didn’t fix the issue, continue to the next step.

It’s possible that the local save for your game has become corrupted. If so, deleting the local save and re-syncing with the cloud might correct the problem.

First, delete the local save:

1. Press the Xbox button
    to open the guide and then select My games & apps >
   See all > Games.
2. Highlight the game title, and then press the
   Menu button  on your controller.
3. Select Manage game & add-ons >
   Saved data.
4. Select Delete all to remove the local save of this game.
   
5. Select Delete all again to confirm.
   

After you delete the local save, restart your Xbox One console:

1. Press and hold the Xbox button
    in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
2. Select Restart console.
3. Select Restart.

After you restart your Xbox One console, re-sync your saved games to the cloud. Your saved games are automatically stored in the cloud while you’re connected to Xbox Live.

Try playing the game again to see if re-syncing with the cloud corrected the game problem.

Still happening for me, cannot play the game more than 10 minutes without a hard crash and "overheating" issue. Stuck in the middle of the campaign and cannot progress. This is the thread on gearbox support:

So disappointing that GB, MS - none of them give a hoot.

And yes, I have tried every single step out there including reloading my XB1X from scratch.
