Bluetooth Dongle Not Finding Devices (specifically Xbox Controller)

Hello,

I recently purchased an xbox controller for my PC using Windows 10. I knew that my PC did not support Bluetooth so I also purchased a Bluetooth dongle off of Amazon.

1. I have tried all of the Microsoft and Xbox support page tips. They did not work and I would please ask you dont just link them, I did my research before posting.

2. I tested the controller using a wired connection and was successfully able to use it in a game (not just connect it)

3. The Bluetooth dongle is appearing in my devices as Bluetooth Radio

However, I am unsure of what the issue is with the pairing. Not only can it not pair to the controller, I cannot even discover it! I also tried going through "Add Devices" as well.

Yes, I reinstalled everything.

Yes, I tried removing and adding the device again.

Yes, I tried other USB ports.

Yes, I updated Windows to the current version.

Yes, I did all of that ten times over.

Yes, I tried Windows support team via Webchat. Their response was to buy a Microsoft dongle. That doesn't make sense, aren't Bluetooth frequencies all the same?

Any ideas?

Are yoi sure yoi got a s controller ?

And there is a difference

Most current ones on thr market are s but if you have an original controllrr then no you must use the ms dongle

Easiest way to trll if thr bottom of thr contrioller has an audio jack the originals didnt have it and required a adapter

Hi, yes the controller I purchased is bluetooth compatible according to both the box and the guide on the website (the plastic facing and all that)

It does have an audio jack on the bottom.

Are you sure you got an appropiate bluetooth controller ?.not an older one

Bluetooth 4 or 5 should be best

And my brother in law has an controller and has no issues so it could be the bluetooth not all bluetooth is created equal

Should be from reputable companies

A 20 dollar controller aint going to cut it

If you only got a receivrr you need a transeiver as controller accepts audio bluetooth too so cant be a mouse receiver but one of those large bluetooth transeivrers

Really you should be asking your bluetooth controllera manufactuers its litterally prrss the button to sync

Also should be noted YOU MUST remove the controller from the xbox you previously connected to before you sync to a computer

It has never been connected to an Xbox, I just bought it.
