    Recently i found an article on the Microsoft answers forum stating

    But this isn't true at all. I assumed the statement on the Microsoft forum meant there was an update that allowed me to just plug a USB microphone into a port on my console , put on some high quality headphones and get rid of the mic problems i have previously
    had with the 3.5mm headphone jacks on the console. (an update ive been wasting for since i got my Xbox one) so after reading the support page article i plugged my blue snowball into my Xbox One, saw the light turn on and then.. nothing. I went into a party
    and it said no mic connected.

    (examples: quiet audio due to lack of a option to change the audio on my own voice, screeching sounds and choppy audio due to low quality cords or headphone jacks on supposed "high quality" headsets and controllers, etc.)

    my question to Microsoft is, why cant we use USB microphones with an Xbox One? and Will support be added for this in the future? I know for a fact that a large majority of players have USB microphones or even USB headsets used for PC or ps4 gaming that
    could easily be used for Xbox one, but no we have to download an app on windows 10 PC witch not everyone who buys an xbox has, or we can get like a splitter and do some like weird jerry rig thing and even then that only works for the Blue yeti. Why make it
    so complicated? why is the only way to do something as simple as connect a USB microphone to a Xbox require a computer with windows 10? just let me plug it in to the console! like most tech can use a microphone after a simple plug in, and even if it needs
    a driver, the Xbox ones OS is basically windows 10. I just dont get it. and like yeah i get it.

    xbox does not support audio via usb what so ever. they probably didnt want to pay the licence for it or skipped out on it due to costs and having to support numerous peripherals.

    Since the Blue Snowball is an USB microphone, it does NOT work with the Xbox One currently.

    Only microphones that plug into the analogue 3.5mm jack of the controller will work. Also make sure, that when you want to use a standard 3.5mm jack microphone, that you will need an adapter that puts the microphone and ground contact at the correct position
    with a CTIA adapter.
