    Blocking players on xbox live isn't working


    When I attempt to block a player I go to the player's card, select "Report or block" and select "Block".

    I then exit out.

    The player showed up in matchmaking again. When I checked the player was listed as unblocked. In fact any time I leave the players card and re-enter they show as unblocked no matter how many times I try to block them.

    First, try clearing your Xbox cache. To do this, press and hold the power button on your Xbox until it turns off completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console and wait for 10 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on your Xbox. Then, try blocking the player again and see if it works.



    If that doesn't work, try blocking the player through the Xbox app on your phone or computer. Open the app, go to the player's profile, and select "Block". This should block the player across all Xbox devices.

    Blocking players on xbox live isn't working

    I've seen a few posts about this in the last day or two, so it's possible that there are issues with the feature.

    Try what CarTzy suggested, then if you have no luck, install the "Report a Problem" app on your console. Just search for "problem" and you'll see it. Once you've done that, attempt to block someone again and when it fails to work, hold down the Xbox button on your controller, choose the option to report a problem, then fill out the necessary info.

    That will send a bug report to the devs and is one of the best ways to help get an issue fixed.

    On your console file a complaint on the player for voice communications and block communication with them. Also, let your friends know to do the same. The problem will be investigated and dealt with accordingly. Also, posting other gamers' gamertags isn't

    File a complaint,
    block communications.

    It's also against forum policy to 'name and shame', the only way for the user to be reported is to file a complaint as mentioned. That person clearly isn't an Xbox rep and impersonating one is a violation of the Service.
