    I haven’t used my Xbox in about a year and today went to play it. Unfortunately, after connecting the HDMI cable to the TV, the screen is completely blank/black.

    I live in UK and have been able to use my Xbox with no problems in the past. Two thing which have probably changed since I last used my Xbox. First, I now have a sky q box (previously sky+). I also have an Amazon fire stick. The sky operates on HDMI 1. The Amazon fires thick on HDMI 3. But the Xbox is not appearing at all on any of the three HDMI channels despite being connected via the HDMI cable.

    Grateful for any advice and tips on this.

    Please try the following steps:

    1. Go to settings / blu ray and erase the permanent storage.

    2. Perform a system cache reset. Keep the powerbutton for about 15 seconds. Keep it holding even when the one turns off. Wait for the power supply to change the color to orange and then restart the console.

    Check if that solves your problem or if it occurs again.

    Afraid it didnt help. It seems to be addressing a screen freeze situation, not a blank screen, which is my problem

    oh ok. my polaroid tv doesn't seem to recognise the hdmi input either. maybe contact panasonic.

    its the hdmi cable that im having trouble with which doesnt have a switch. do you mean the switch thats on the older cable what comes with the xbox? thanks

    Screen is blank.

    My controller does connect, but it does not make any noise, even when I waited.
