Black screen, sudden closing out of windows

Does anyone else have the black screen for bout 20-30 seconds when you go back to your home screen?? Rapture (Xbox one X) does. Its also will "crash" when im doing stuff like serveys and what not. Anyone else have these problems?? I kinda think Rapture
is just buggy cause i got it right when the one X was available.

That's a good point i didn't think of that. Im dont think i am from what I can remember

As a result of this issue ive been doing my surveys on my tablet im waiting for a xbox update to fix this problem

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this question. Sorry to hear that you're getting a random black screen when you try to go back to the home screen and random crashes out of nowhere.

You may wish to troubleshoot that using the following support article:

Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on

Should that troubleshooting not work out for you, then I would recommend trying a

soft factory reset (keeping games & apps installed) to your console to remove any potentially damaging files that may be on the OS. Just be sure you know your log in credentials for your profile (email address and password) prior to performing that step
as it does remove profiles from the console.

It may also be a good idea to
report this issue via the Insider Hub app as well (you don't necessarily need to be an Insider to report) so that the information goes directly to the engineers. If you do happen to be enrolled in the Insider program, you can also report this at their reddit
page as well ( Xbox Insiders - reddit ).

Give the troubleshooting a try and let us know the results.

I'll be happy to explain how to do a hard power cycle and if that does not help, then show you where to go for a soft factory reset.

Go ahead and do a
hard power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and turn on
the Xbox.

If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
soft factory reset. Open up your Settings and then scroll down to System. Select Console info and then Reset console. Make sure to select "keep my games & apps" and have your account login information plus your WIFI password
ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add the account and re-connect to your network.

How would i do that? Is that with the power button?? Ive stumbled across the factory reset twice but got scared cuz i have no clue how i got to that menu
