The extenders being referred to use your outlets in your house to simulate a network cable to transfer data. There are advantage and limitations to this. Before purchasing this I would suggest you do a bit of reading.

There are two other options as well.

a network extender; relatively inexpensive, only need one device you plug in connect it to the current Wifi to create an extension or bridge.

If your house is large enough where you are having signal issue you can look into an in home mesh network system. I use the one from google and have three devices spread around my house for the Wifi connection. It is a true mesh network once connected
you can connect to any of the devices and move seamlessly between them automatically. The only real con here is it is fairly expensive compared to the others.

The cheapest is most likely just a basic network extender if you only need the one device connected. However is you are having signal issues with other devices you may want to invest in a mesh network setup to completely cover your house with signal.

Have you spoken to your isp? I know both Sky and BT used to offer booster boxes that worked pretty well. Deffo worth inquiring about as its another option to consider alongside the great options discussed in this thread.

I have used a TP-Link booster, quite successfully here in the UK. Using power line adapters is a better option as suggested but can cost a little bit more. If possible the best option is to run an ethernet cable

Badly set up / placed boosters can actually make wifi worse. You may be better with a pair of homeplugs and connecting the xbox to them with an ethernet cable

I would recommend a Powerline Adapter over a WiFi Extender, at least as a first option anyway.

Note the speeds you’ll get using a powerline adapter are dependent on the quality of your home’s electric wiring. This means that while a powerline adapter can generally be the most suitable solution to boosting your WiFi range, it isn’t suitable for everybody.
And contrary to what you may believe, Powerline Adapters are generally very simple to set up.
