Best sequence of steps to transfer one XBOX account to another Microsoft Account

Hi,

my son has his xbox live account tied to a Microsoft account that is DIFFERENT to the one he uses to log on to his PC and Phone... All very confusing and now he has an XBOX music pass key that he wants to have work on all devices (as intended) - How do
we get to a point where the right Microsoft Account is associated to the Xbox live account so we can activate his Xbox music pass?

I would suggest verifying the steps in our Transfer Your Gamertag to Another Microsoft Account support article.

As for the error code: If you see error code 80151006 when you’re using Xbox LIVE, it means your Microsoft account is valid but is not associated with an Xbox LIVE account.

Is there an account linked to the one receiving that error?

If I remember correctly you can log in either here or on Microsoft.com and change the associated email to the correct one.

Hi there!

Unfortunately, game licenses and game data cannot be transferred from one account to another. It will always stay on that particular account. Our best option is for you to create another Microsoft/Xbox account.

oh, and there is no way to transfer dlc, microsoft points, or content licenses from one account to another. in rare cases xbox support may transfer a subscription to another account.
