Being thrown out of Fortnite with black screen when trying to enter solo game

The xbox one s had an update this morning, since then my son is being thrown out of the fortnite game, back to the lobby with a black screen, everytime he attempts to play a game eg. tries to go into a solo game. We've tried signing out and re-starting
both game and console, but it still stops him from playing. All was working ok before the update. Can anyone shed any light on what we need to do to fix the issue?

Fortnite unable to play battle royale

I am unable to enter the battle royale on Fortnite as it freezes when trying to load then goes back to the home screen. Xbox one Scorpio. This happened after an update.

Yes we knew there had been an update this morning. We think that's what caused the issue.

Anyway, I've had to go through Microsoft Live support to get a resolution. After a full re-start and re-setup of the whole console and our accounts didn't work. Uninstalling and re-installing the game did.

Try a hard reset of the xbox hold the home button for 8 seconds till it completely shuts off and unplug the xbox for 5 minutes
