Being charged for free game, can I get a refund please?

I saw the 'Goat Simulator'(Goat Simulator) is free
today so I clicked the 'Buy Game - Free' button and then just confirmed the purchase without checking the confirmation screen. Then I saw I have been charged at the full price NZD14.95 for the game. How could this happened while the page still showing the
game is free? Can I get a refund please? Thank you.

got charged for the free game of the month on xbox live gold

I have just bought an xbox 360 and joined xbox live gold. The screen said - free games for gold. I downloaded the game and my credit card still got charged ! who can help me get a refund ?

Being a Gold Member I downloaded the available free game "EA SPORTS™ SSX", however I was charged INR 1900 for it from my credit card. Can you please clarify why am I being charged if the game is available free for "Games for Gold".

The trial is free, but the game is full price, so you were charged correctly. You would need to contact support to see if they can get you a refund, but everything on the marketplace does state that there are no refunds, so there is no guarantee of one.

Since you were charged NZD14.95, your account is likely based in New Zealand. Goat Simulator was only free in the US as part of a promo that was sponsored by a US candy company.



You were viewing the US store on the web (as evidenced by the en-US in the URL) so you saw the US promo. When you logged in with your NZ account though, Xbox Live processes the transaction on your local store.



The correct, local, price would have been shown on the confirmation screen.



If you want to purchase content from a different region store, you either need to migrate your account using the account migration tool or create a second account for the given region. You cannot make a cross region purchase on the Xbox 360 storefront. If
you are currently in the US, you definitely should use the account migration tool, as otherwise you will run into other issues when trying to purchase content from the US store with an out-of-region account.



In short, the store worked as it was supposed to work. You were charged the correct price because the game was never free in your region.
